Holmen Paper Madrid PM 62 in Spain ran a new newsprint machine world speed record on January 25, 2010. The new speed record is now set at 2,014 m/min. During the record run all critical press felt positions were equipped with Metso'sTamfelt fabrics: TMO with a nonwoven base on the pick-up and 1st press positions and a conventional nonwoven base felt on the 2nd press shoe position. In addition to the felts, Tamfelt's BlackBelt shoe press belt was contributing to the record on the second shoe press. During the record run the machine runnability and paper quality were excellent.
